Chapter 4, Problem 1DQ
Summary Introduction
To discuss:
The results if meristems were present on leaves.
Introduction:
Meristems are the tissues present in the plants. These tissues contain undifferentiated cells. Mainly the meristems are found in those parts of the plants where the growth can take place if an injury occurs to the plants. These cells are generally small and cuboidal in shape. They have large nuclei, small vacuoles, and thin walls. The main function of meristems is to give rise to various plant organs and do growth. The apical meristems are responsible for the growth at the shoots and the roots. At the shoots, it triggers the growth of buds and at roots, it triggers the growth of seedlings.
