Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6):

• It has the address length of 128 bit and the address is represented in hexadecimals.
• It contains simple header because it doesn’t include option fields.
• In this, only sender has the ability to do the fragmentation.
• It provides better security because it includes extended headers.

Internet Control Message Protocol Version 6 (ICMPv6):

• ICMPv6 is the protocol that is developed to implement the ICMP for IPv6.
• It is the integral part of IPv6.
• It is used for error detection and to perform diagnostic functions.
• The ICMPv6 messages are divided into two types namely, error messages and information messages.
