Question
Chapter 4, Problem 27CT
Summary Introduction
To analyze:
The relation between the orange skin tone and diet in a 13-month-old infant.
Introduction:
Skin color depends on mainly three pigments. These are melanin, hemoglobin, and carotene. The high amount of melanin-containing skin is dark brown in color and with less melanin, the skin is light in color. In people with light skin, the red color of the hemoglobin gives a rosy pink glow to the skin. In some cases, the skin turns orange due to the accumulation of carotene.
