Summary Introduction

To review:

The reason, due to which the elderly people are less able to adapt to temperature extremes.

Introduction:

The integumentary system plays a vital role in regulating body temperature, but aging affects all the components of the system, which result in less adaptability to extreme temperatures. The major changes that happen as a result of aging include a decrease in glandular activity, number of Langerhans cells, vitamin D3 production, and melanocyte activity. The thinning of the epidermis is also observed.
