The figure shows a 100kg block being released from rest from a height of 1m. It then takes 0.90s to reach the floor. What is the mass of the other block (m)? The pulley has no appreciable mass or friction. Please answer in kg
You are using a modified block and tackle pulley system to lift a concrete block. You need to lift the concrete block (mass = 200 kg) a distance of 5 meters upward. The system is designed to reduce the force load of 4. How much rope must you pull down on the other side of the pulley to lift the block the proper distance?
Hint: There is a very simple way to solve this if you remember that work in = work out.
I am having trouble with my homework, and it is all one problem. There are multiple parts to this problem. I am not ure if this will count as one question, or many. I don't mind if you subtract a few questions out of my account, because this is a very long problem. Thank you so much for the help. My homework is due in one hour so a quick response would be very greatly appreciated. -Mark

The pivot IS the wheel's axle. Here, the output force is greater than the input force. Thus, a wheelbarrow enables you to lift much heavier loads than you could with your body alone. (b) In the case of the shovel, the input force is between the pivot and the load, but the input lever arm is shorter than the output lever arm. The pivot is at the handle held by the right hand. Here, the output force (supporting the shovel's load) is less than the input force (from the hand nearest the load), because the Input is exerted closer to the pivot than is the outputarrow_forwardTo give a pet hamster exercise, some people put the hamster in a ventilated ball andallow it roam around the house(Fig. P13.66). At some point, the bucket will accumulate enough sand to set the block in motion. The coefficients of static and kinetic friction are 0.60 and 0.50 respectively. This is a 2 pulley system.
