SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY Eastern tent caterpillars (Malacosoma americanum) live in large groups in silk nests resembling tents, which they build in trees. They are among the first insects to be active in early spring, when daily temperature fluctuates from freezing to very hot. Over the course of a day, they display striking differences in behavior: Early in the morning, they rest in a tightly packed group on the tent's east-facing surface. In midafternoon, they are on its undersurface, each caterpillar hanging by a few of its legs. Propose a hypothesis to explain this behavior. How could you test it?

Mayflies are an interesting insect. Adults emerge from the water with fully formed wings but with no mouthparts. Over the course of a few days, their only goal is to find a mate and lay eggs before they die. Females can deposit thousands of eggs in the water, which sink to the bottom sediments where they hatch. Nymphs hatch from the eggs and grow and develop on their own, spending one to three years under the surface of the water until they are ready to emerge from the water as adults.
how would i test my hypothesis that larger galls have more insects that emerge from them in this research study project, I have included the data, gall id is just the identifier for each gall, gall volume is the size, we used volume that was calculated from the diameter because its more accurate on gall size, and number of insects represents the number of insect holes counted on old galls. additionally the new galls we collected did not produce sufficient data and were omitted from our study. i calculated the correlation coefficient to be 0.531418 which means we have a moderately positive correlation. now how do I apply this to test hypothesis and obtain a p- value. I've been trying for 10 hours to figure this out now and I'm getting fucking frustrated!!!! excuse my language. thank you
