To describe:
The XX-XO system of sex-determination.
Introduction:
The process through which the development of the sexual characteristics is determined is known as the sex determination. Generally, most of the living organisms produce their offspring through the sexual reproduction and the offspring have two different sexes. The sex of individuals is determined by the chromosomal system and environmental system.
To describe:
The heterogametic sex in XX-XO system of sex-determination.
Introduction:
In the chromosomal sex-determining system, the sex of an individual is dependent on the chromosomes. Males and females have different sets of chromosomes. There are three different sex-determining systems in chromosomal system, namely- XX-XO, XX-XY, and ZZ-ZW.
To describe:
The homogametic sex in XX-XO system of sex-determination.
Introduction:
In the XX-XO sex-determining system, there is one homogametic sex and there is a heterogametic sex. The presence and absence of X chromosome is responsible for differences in the sex.
