The term morphogen.
Introduction:
A morphogen is a chemical that induce morphogenesis as it relates to “tissue development”. Life of an organism starts from a zygote which is a diploid unicellular structure that results from the fusion of male and a female gamete. It then grows and differentiates into many cells that have different origins and functions.
There occur a number of processes for complete development of an organism. One such process is morphogenesis. Some examples of morphogens are: retinoic acid, bone morphogenic protein, and so on.
