Introduction:
The heart is the muscular pump located within the mediastinum and resting upon the diaphragm. It is enclosed by the lungs, thoracic vertebrae and the sternum. It is attached at its superior end, base and its inferior end, axis extends downwards. The heart consists of four chambers : two superior atria and two inferior ventricles.
