Given information: coordinates of O, A and B.

Formula used: midpoint formula “coordinates of midpoint of a line segment joining $(x_1,y_1)$ and $(x_2,y_2)$ are $\left(\frac{x_1+x_2}{2},\frac{y_1+y_2}{2}\right)$ .

Calculation: By midpoint formula,

  $\begin{array}{l}\text{x-coordinates of midpoint of }\text{OA}=\frac{0+12}{2}=6\\ \text{x-coordinates of midpoint of }\text{AB}=\frac{8+12}{2}=10\\ \text{Difference}=10-6\\ =4\end{array}$
