Hypothalamus is located at the brain, below thalamus. It links the nervous and endocrine system through pituitary gland. The synthesis releasing hormones and inhibitory hormones from nuclei stimulate or inhibit hormone secretion from the anterior pituitary. They maintain homeostasis and regulate body temperature, hunger, sleep and reproduction. Also they regulates certain metabolism and autonomic nervous system.
