Introduction:

The menstrual cycle in females is a regular monthly process in which the lining of the uterus is prepared for pregnancy. If pregnancy does not happen, the lining is shed at menstruation. Hormones secreted from ovaries and pituitary glands control the cycle. Hormones control the release of an egg from an ovary. Oestrogen, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) are the hormones that control the menstrual cycle.
