Concept explainers
Interpretation: The questions that are needed to be asked for the determination of a substance as atomic element, molecular element, molecular compound, or ionic compound are to be explained and the detailed set of instructions in classification of substance on the basis of own answer are to be written.
Concept Introduction: The pure substances are either elements or compounds. The elements are classified as atomic elements and molecular element and compounds are classified as ionic compounds or molecular compounds.
The elements having single atom as their basic units are known as atomic elements.
The elements that are bonded together with two atoms of that elements are known as molecular elements.
The compounds that are composed of two or more non-metals are known as molecular compounds.
The compounds that are composed of pairing of cations and anions are known as ionic compound.
