Introduction:
The cell membrane is a thin sheet of lipid bilayer, which provides structure to the cell. Certain proteins are present in the phospholipid layer in embedded form, which regulate the entry and exit of the substances in and out of the cell. The movement of these substances is in both directions, which are controlled by the semi-permeable characteristic of the cell membrane.
