Concept explainers
To explain:
The mechanism behind the increased heart rate of an individual who has to stand in front of the class to give a report and is nervous. Also describe the ECG of the heart rate in this situation.
Introduction:
The heart beat is controlled by the internal and the external control. In the internal control the rhythm of contraction of the atria and the ventricle is because of the internal control system of the heart. The external control of the heart beat is done externally by medulla oblongata, which controls internal organ with the help of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.
The sympathetic nervous system controls the activity of AV and SA node. It increases the activity of SA and AV node when we are in active state. The parasympathetic nervous system also controls the activity of AV and SA node. It decreases the activity of SA and AV node when we are in an inactive state.
