Concept explainers
Explain all answers clearly, with complete sentences and proper essay structure if needed. An asterisk (*) designates a quantitative problem, for which you should show all your work.
Amateur Astronomy:Observing the Moon. Any amateur telescope has adequate resolution to identify geological features on the Moon. The light highlands and dark maria should be evident, and shadowing is visible near the line between night and day. Try to observe the Moon near the first-or third-quarter phase. Sketch or photograph the Moon at low magnification, and then zoom in on a region of interest. Again sketch or photograph your field of view, them label the features and indentify the geological process that created them. Look for craters, volcanic plains and tectonic features. Estimate the size of each feature by comparing it to the size of the whole Moon (radius = 1738 km).

- Please answer the question and its subquestions entirely! This is one question with two subquestions. According to the official Bartleby guidelines, I am alowed to have up to two subquestion! 1) When an ice-skater spins and increases her rotation rate by pulling her arms and leg in, what happens to her kinetic energy? It stays the same. It increases. It decreases. a) A 0.400 kg mass, sitting on a horizontal frictionless surface, is attached to the end of a 0.750 m string. It is whirled around in a circular horizontal path. If the maximum tension that the string can withstand is 450 N, then what maximum velocity can the mass have if the string is not to break? 375 m/s 22.4 m/s 19.4 m/s 29.0 m/s b) A grinding wheel with a moment of inertia of 2 kg-m 2 has a 2.50 N-m torque applied to it. What is its final kinetic energy 10 seconds after starting from rest? 312 J 237 J 156 J 106 Jarrow_forwardPlease show the complete solution and write your answer clearly and readable.arrow_forwardPlease show your complete solution and write your answer clearly and readable. - Identify which of the cyclists ended their trip closest to home. Which cyclists did not end their trip closest to home? Be sure to use evidence from the images to support your claim and explain your reasoning. Answer in complete sentences, about 5.arrow_forwardFor problems requiring calculations, show the equation you will use to solve, your work, your answer, and correct units. E F=ma 6. A woman has a mass of 30 kg on earth (9am.-9.8m/s*). What is her weight? 7. The same 30 kg woman weighs 245 N on Ceres. What is the acceleration due to gravity on Ceres? 8. A man in the "Strong Man" competition pushes a 1500 kg vehicle with an acceleration of 3 m/s2? How much force did the man exert on the vehicle? 9.
