The foramen magnum is a hole that is located at the base of the skull. It is surrounded by four bones: right and left pars lateralis, para squama, and pars basilaris. The foramen magnum is a hole present at the base of occipital bone that surrounds the brain’s lower part and allows spinal cord to connect with the brain.
