Chapter 5, Problem 3MCQ
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Photosynthesis is a process that takes place in green plants to construct complex organic compounds from water and carbon dioxide with the help of chlorophyll and sunlight. The whole process is completed in two steps; light reaction and dark reaction. ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production takes place in the light reaction of photosynthesis. This ATP is used to reduce CO2 to form carbohydrate in the dark reaction.

How are the NADPH and G3P molecules made during photosynthesis similar? a. They are both end products of photosynthesis. b. They are both substrates for photosynthesis. c. They are both produced from carbon dioxide. d. They both store energy in chemical bonds.
Suppose we set up a system in a lab where plants are automatically injected with all the glucose they need to survive. What part of photosynthesis would the plants no longer need to perform? Group of answer choices a)ETC 1 b)the entire dark reaction c)the entire light reaction d)P700 e)all of it
Explain why each of the following misconceptions about photosynthesis is false: a. Only plants are autotrophs. b. Plants do not need cellular respiration because they carry out photosynthesis. c. Chlorophyll is the only plant pigment.
