Hair is made up of keratin, hair follicles anchor hair into the skin and hair bulb make a base of the hair follicle.They are comprised of pigments that give a particularcolor to the hair. While the difference in the texture can be ascertained by the dissimilarity in the cross-section.
Hair grows from hair follicle and are mainly of three types;
- Downy hair:
They are mostly present in the fetus, they have a low level of pigment.
- Vellus hair:
Present at the time of birth downy hair change into vellus hair.
- Terminal hair: These are long and heavily pigmented.
