Concept explainers
In cold weather, meteorologists report an index called the windchill factor, that takes into account the wind speed and the temperature. The index provides a measure of the chilling effect of wind at a given air temperature. Windchill may be approximated by the formula:
W=13.12+0.6215* t–11.37 *v0.16+0.3965 * t *v0.016
where
v = wind speed in m/sec
t = temperature in degrees Celsius: t <= 10
W = windchill index (in degrees Celsius)
Write a function that returns the windchill index. Your code should ensure that the restriction on the temperature is not violated. Look up some weather reports in back issues of a newspaper in your university library and compare the windchill index you calculate with the result reported in the newspaper.

- When you borrow money to buy a house, a car, or for some other purposes, then you typically repay it by making periodic payments. Suppose that the loan amount is L, r is the interest rate per year, m is the number of payments in a year, and the loan is for t years. Suppose that i = (r / m) and r is in decimal. Then the periodic payment is: You can also calculate the unpaid loan balance after making certain payments. For example, the unpaid balance after making k payments is: where R is the periodic payment. (Note that if the payments are monthly, then m = 12.) Instructions Write a program that prompts the user to input the values of L, r, m, t, and k. The program then outputs the appropriate values. Your program must contain at least two functions, with appropriate parameters, to calculate the periodic payments and the unpaid balance after certain payments. Make the program menu driven and use a loop so that the user can repeat the program for different values. The program should display the account’s future value. i attached the screenshot of the output so the output should look like that.arrow_forwardSubmit in python or c++. Error code will downvoted. Every cell (x,y) contains an integer ax,y signifying the course of how the ball will move. ax,y=1 — the ball will move to one side (the following cell is (x,y+1)); ax,y=2 — the ball will move to the base (the following cell is (x+1,y)); ax,y=3 — the ball will move to one side (the following cell is (x,y−1)). - (Mechanics) The deflection at any point along the centerline of a cantilevered beam, such as the one used for a balcony (see Figure 5.15), when a load is distributed evenly along the beam is given by this formula: d=wx224EI(x2+6l24lx) d is the deflection at location x (ft). xisthedistancefromthesecuredend( ft).wistheweightplacedattheendofthebeam( lbs/ft).listhebeamlength( ft). Using these formulas, write, compile, and run a C++ program that determines and displays a table of the deflection for a cantilevered pine beam at half-foot increments along its length, using the following data: w=200lbs/ftl=3ftE=187.2106lb/ft2b=.2fth=.3ftarrow_forward(Data processing) Your professor has asked you to write a C++ program that determines grades at the end of the semester. For each student, identified by an integer number between 1 and 60, four exam grades must be kept, and two final grade averages must be computed. The first grade average is simply the average of all four grades. The second grade average is computed by weighting the four grades as follows: The first grade gets a weight of 0.2, the second grade gets a weight of 0.3, the third grade gets a weight of 0.3, and the fourth grade gets a weight of 0.2. That is, the final grade is computed as follows: 0.2grade1+0.3grade2+0.3grade3+0.2grade4 Using this information, construct a 60-by-7 two-dimensional array, in which the first column is used for the student number, the next four columns for the grades, and the last two columns for the computed final grades. The program’s output should be a display of the data in the completed array. Thus, the monthly interest rate is 0.0375/12 = 0.003125. After the first month, the value in the account becomes 100 * (1 + 0.003125) = 100.3125, after the second month, the value in the account becomes (100 + 100.3125) * (1 + 0.003125) = 200.938, after the third month, the value in the account becomes (100 + 200.938) * (1 + 0.003125) = 301.878 and so on. Write a Java program that prompts the user to enter a monthly saving amount and displays the account value after the sixth month. Sample Output:Enter the monthly saving amount: 100After the first month, the account value is 100.3125After the second month, the account value is 200.9384765625After the third month, the account value is 301.8789093017578Note: The computation should be until 12 months.arrow_forward
- We have n glasses which can hold a varying amount of liquid. We will say that glass1 is size q1 quarts and glass2 is size q2 quarts, etc. We now give you a size, say x quarts. You must give me a glass of exactly x quarts. You are allowed to fill any glass to exactly its size and to pour any liquid from one glass into another. When you pour, you either have to empty the glass you are pouring from or fill the glass you are pouring into. Can you do it?More concrete example: G1 has size 10 quarts. G2 has size 4 quarts. G3 has size 1 quart. You can get a 5 quart drink by filling G1, pouring 4 quarts from it into G2 and 1 quart of it into G1. After that, G1 has exactly 5 quarts. In the same problem, we could get 8 quarts by filling G2 twice and emptying it into G1 twice. Given This: Write an algorithm to do this and determine its complexity.arrow_forwardSuppose you are a computer salesman and your income depend on the total sales and commissions earned for the computers that you sell. If theamount deposited is P, the stated interest rate is r, and interest is compounded m timesper year, then the balance in the account after one year is P⋅(1+rm)m. For instance, if$1000 is deposited at 3% interest compounded quarterly (that is, 4 times per year), thenthe balance after one year is1000⋅(1+.034)4=1000⋅1.00754=$1,030.34.Interest rates with different compounding periods cannot be compared directly.The concept of APY (annual percentage yield) must be used to make the comparison. TheAPY for a stated interest rate r compounded m times per year is defined byAPY=(1+rm)m−1.(The APY is the simple interest rate that yields the same amount of interest after oneyear as the compounded annual rate of interest.)
