In order to name the ionic compounds that contain a polyatomic ion, use the name of the polyatomic ion as it is.
The naming of such ionic compounds that contain a polyatomic ion is as follows:
Cation (charge of cation in Roman numeral in parentheses) + polyatomic anion name
If the compound contains both a polyatomic cation and a polyatomic anion, use the names of both polyatomic ions.
