Summary Introduction

Introduction: Animal cognition involves the mental faculties of non-primates and the strength of these capacities. In animals, the conditioning and learning process involves awareness, reasoning, recollection, and judgment. Initially, it was thought that only primates and certain marine mammals possess cognition, but it was found later that many groups of animals including insects have been observed to exhibit cognitive learning.
