Chapter 5.2, Problem 2MC
Summary Introduction
To describe:
The relationships among chloroplast, photosystems, stroma, grana, and thylakoids.
Concept introduction:
The eukaryotic cells are named so because of the presence of the membrane-bound nucleus in them. The eukaryotic cells are different from the prokaryotic cells as they have a nucleus and double membrane-bound organelles. They have extensive internal compartmentalization and each organelle perform its own specific function.

Photosystem - II.
Photosystems are essential to the light reactions. Which of the following is true about photosystems?
a) Photosystems are embedded within membranes, across which they create a proton gradient.
b) Photosystems work together to absorb light over a larger surface area than could be possible from just one pigment molecule working alone.
c) Photosystems are composed of proteins and pigment molecules.
d) All of the above
Describe the structure of a chloroplast, and specify the location of each process of photosynthesis.
