Given information: The inequality has (−4,−14), (4,10) & (8,22) as its solutions.

Formula used:

Two-point form of line is

  (y−y1)=(y2−y1)(x2−x1)×(x−x1)  ,where (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are the two points on the line.

Calculation:

Since the inequality has (−4,−14), (4,10) & (8,22) as its solutions then the line passing these 3 points can be written by taking the first two points a=(−4,−14) and b=(4,10) and the equation of the line is

  (y−y1)=(y2−y1)(x2−x1)(x−x1)(y−(−14))=(10−(−14))(4−(−4))(x−(−4))(y+14)=3(x+4)y−3x=−2

Hence the equation of line passing from these 3 points is y−3x=−2 .

Now the inequality equation can be y−3x≤−2 or y−3x≥−2 , Since it is not mention in the question. Hence any one of them is correct.

Therefore the equation of inequality is y−3x≥−2 .
