To find the way a sparse array is supported by JavaScript. Explanation: A sparse array is a data structure that is used to store values in the memory that are not continuous. Basically, the length of the array defines how much space is required by the elements in the memory and then it will link the array elements to the relevant indexes. There are generally two type of arrays one is sparse, and another is dense. A sparse array can be implemented by taking more time as it need to search the empty blocks of memory and it is also a efficient method to save memory although it is slow. Yes JavaScript’s support sparse arrays, they use hash tables to implement their functions. Arrays are merely specialized objects with an auto-maintained length attribute, and JavaScript objects are sparse. JavaScript consist of an Array object that has a method to be used for extracting some set of continuous elements that method is called Array.splice(). Example: Var color0=[]; color0[2]= “red”; color0[3]= “yellow”; This example says that the memory assigned is not continuous as it search for next empty space and store it using links. Conclusion: Therefore, sparse arrays are used by the java scripts to auto maintain the spaces and connect the memory using link indexes.
