To determine:
The kind of selective media that could have used for isolating each of these four types of microbes:aerobic and anaerobic nitrogen fixing bacteria, sulfate reducing bacteria, and sulfur-oxidizing bacteria.
Introduction:
A culture media has different compositions and it depends on the type of microorganisms that has to be cultured. It contains all the essential nutrients in sufficient amount that support the growth of microorganisms. A culture media could be a liquid media or a solid media. Different types of culture media are developed for establishing the culture of different microorganisms in laboratory conditions. A selective media is selective for microorganisms that can easily culture on that medium. In selective media nutrients are added according to the demand of the microorganism to grow.
