Explanation The demographic transition model explains that economic and cultural changes in countries as they industrialized led to decreased birth and death rates. Pre industrialization, industrialization and post industrialization are the development state of a country. Demographic transition has happened in many developed countries for past years. But this model may or may not be applied to all developing countries or less developed nations. As developing countries may be facing too much environmental impacts of high population rate already and it would be nearly impossible to replicate developed nation’s transition. Thus, transition may not occur in countries that have cultural values which emphasis more on childbirth and grant women less rights. A global society may help to ensure that a nation complete a demographic transition by controlling human population rate. Improved cultural values that allow women empowerment is an effective way to control population growth. By this women could practice their rights so that she could place more value on personal freedom than on childbirth. Due to this women can make their own reproductive decision that could result in low reproductive rates.
