Question
Chapter 6.13, Problem 1CR
Summary Introduction
Attenuation is a process of premature termination of transcription. In prokaryotes the transcription and translation process occurs simultaneously. The mRNA has a leader sequence that gives the stop signal as a stem loop structure to terminate the transcription before its completion. The attenuator either stops the transcription or proceed it based on the presence of sufficient quantities of metabolites such as tryptophan, histidine.
