Facility of SN2 displacements depends on the nature of the leaving group, reactivity of nucleophile and the structure of the alkyl portion of the substrate. Higher the leaving group ability to be displaced, easier the SN2 displacement reaction. For halogens, leaving group ability increases down the group.
