Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Fermentation refers to the breakdown of glucose in the absence of oxygen into gases, organic acids, and alcohol. Pyruvate, in presence of oxygen, enters the citric acid cycle which is followed by the electron transport chain. Under anaerobic condition, it results in the production of alcohol and lactic acid in the bacterial cells and muscle cells respectively through the process of fermentation.
