Chapter 7, Problem 26SAE
Summary Introduction
To review:
Determine the number of cranial nerve pairs that make a part of the nervous system. Also, give the name of those cranial nerves that are pure sensory in nature, responsible for the activation of chewing muscles, and regulation of heart rate and activity of digestive tract.
Introduction:
The cranial nerves are the pair of nerves that arise directly from the brain unlike the spinal nerves, which arise from the spinal cord. The major functions of these cranial nerves include carrying information from the sensory organs to the brain and regulation of glands and the internal organs. The cranial nerves are sequentially numbered, and in most cases, their names indicate structures controlled by them.
