Summary Introduction
To review:
The bones involved in the formation of os coxae besides ilium and pubis.
Introduction:
The appendicular skeleton is appended to the axial skeleton, which includes bones of the limbs and their corresponding two types of girdles, namely, pectoral girdles and pelvic girdles. The pectoral girdle is also known as the shoulder girdle where the paired girdles have two types of bones, namely, clavicle and scapula. The pelvic girdle, also known as the hip girdle, is formed by the sacrum which is a part of the axial skeleton. The os coxae, or the coxal bone, is the hip bone which joins with the sacrum posteriorly and the hip bones pair themselves anteriorly.
