DNA is a double helical structure in which the two strands are complementary to each other. The one strands is 53 while other is 35 . The nitrogenous bases are also complementary to each other. It also contains phosphate sugar backbone.

The double-stranded DNA helix contains phosphodiester bonds linking the nucleotides together. The DNA strands are oriented in an antiparallel direction.
