Chapter 7, Problem 3FIB
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Photosynthesis in plants consists of the light reactions and the Calvin cycle. In the light reactions during photosynthesis, chlorophyll and other molecules located in the thylakoid membranes of the chloroplast absorb sunlight energy and convert it into chemical energy. This chemical energy is stored in the energy carrier molecules called ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and NADPH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate). The light reaction occurs in the thylakoid membranes of the chloroplast.
