Introduction:

RBCs are the cellular component of the blood. They arise from certain cells of the red bone marrow. These cells are called stem cells. The life span of RBC is 120 days. After 120 days the old or damaged RBCs are removed by the macrophages in the liver or spleen by phagocytosis process.
