Textbook Question
Chapter 7.1, Problem 27ES
Although there are exceptions, the call signs for stations west of the Mississippi River start with a K and east start with a W. Earlier radio stations had 3-letter call signs, and in 1922 4-letter call stations were established. (Today, a few older stations continue with a 3-letter call sign while a majority have a 4-letter call sign.) (Use this for Exercises 27 and 28.)
Find the numbers of 3-letter call signs possible given that the first letter must be a K or W.
