Effect on the permeability of the membrane during depolarization and repolarization phase of an action potential.
Introduction:
Depolarization is the change in the membrane potential of the cell, which makes the inside of the cell more positive than the outside of the cell. In other words, we can say that depolarization is the membrane potential that is slightly more positive than the resting potential.
Repolarization is the incident which takes place right after the depolarization. In this, the membrane potential becomes much negative, that is, inside of the cell becomes much negative as compared to the outside of the cell. Repolarization membrane potential is slightly more negative than the resting potential.
