Question
Chapter 8, Problem 10PE
Program Plan Intro
Fuel efficiency of a multi-leg journey
Program Plan:
- Declare the “MPG” function.
- Assign the values to the variables.
- Iterate the “for” loop until it reaches the last line in the text file.
- Set the value.
- Check “leg” is not equal to newline.
- In “try” block,
- Split the odometer reading and amount of gas from the user input and assign it into the separate variables.
- Increment the “count” value.
- Calculate the distance traveled, total distance.
- Calculate the MPG for leg.
- Set the new odometer reading.
- Display the leg.
- Add values to trip total.
- Break the function.
- In exception block, break the function.
- Return the value to the main function.
- In “try” block,
- Declare a main function. Inside the main function,
- Get the input file name from the user.
- Open the file.
- Get the starting odometer reading from the user.
- Call the function “MPG”.
- Calculate the total MPG.
- Display the result.
- Call the main function.

I need to modify this code to be able to read from a file and write into a file. The program is working as it should but I need an example of how to change my input and accept a file instead.
C++
A teacher is requiring her students to line up in alphabetical order, according to their first names..For example, in one class Chapel, Christine would be at the front and Uhura, Nyota would be last. The program will get the names from a file using getline since the file name includes spaces. The names should be read in until there is no more data to read.
The program should prompt the user for the file name and read the data from the file. Note that these names might include spaces; handle your input accordingly. The expected output is two names; do not show the entire file.
Do not use arrays or sorting for this problem.
Write in python.

- Please do this in Python: Write a program that allows the user to navigate lines of text in a file. The program should prompt the user for a filename, read the file and input the lines of text into a list. The program then enters a loop in which it prints the number of lines in the file and prompts the user for a line number. Actual line number range from 1 to the number of lines in the file. If the input is 0, the program quits. Otherwise, the program prints the text associated with that number.arrow_forwardA file concordance tracks the unique words in a file and their frequencies. Write a program that displays a concordance for a file. The program should output the unique words and their frequencies in alphabetical order. Variations are to track sequences of two words and their frequencies, or n words and their frequencies. Below is an example file along with the program input and output: example.txt I AM SAM I AM SAM SAM I AMarrow_forwardThe program takes a single argument as the name of the file to be read. A sample file is named (Movies.txt). The program reads this file which has labeled columns separated by commas. Every row of this text file includes information about a movie. You are asked to read every row as a string and decompose the given information (separated by commas). If a costumer wants too see "List of the Genres" (or genre, score, year) all genres type must be show. I need this answer in C language. Please explain nicely. Thanks.arrow_forward
- Create a cpp file containing tests for a program that takes in two numbers and outputs the addition for them. Add three tests but only write code for passing one of them.arrow_forwardC++ A teacher is requiring her students to line up in alphabetical order, according to their first names..For example, in one class Chapel, Christine would be at the front and Uhura, Nyota would be last. The program will get the names from a file. The names should be read in until there is no more data to read. The program should prompt the user for the file name and read the data from the file. A suitable file of names (List of Random Names) is provided on Moodle. Note that these names might include spaces; handle your input accordingly. The expected output is two names; do not show the entire file (or you will regret that code when you do the associated programming quiz that processes thousands of names).
