Chapter 8, Problem 14PPA
Summary Introduction
The heart and blood vessels constitute the cardiovascular system. Cardiovascular system delivers oxygenated blood to all the tissues. The heart is made up of four chambers separated by valves. The valve between the right atrium and ventricle is called the tricuspid valve and the valve between the left atrium and left ventricle is called bi-cuspid valve. Semilunar valves (pulmonary or aortic valve) are also present. The opening and closure of these valves confer the blood circulation in all the four chambers. The oxygenated blood is pumped out to the rest of the body through the arteries.
