Answer to Problem 1QAP

True

Explanation of Solution

Uranus is the seventh planet of the solar system. It has a radius of 25,362 km and in the equator it is 25,559 km therefore it has a shape of oblate spheroid. It consists of hydrogen and helium with rocky core. It is known as the gas giant.

The tilt of the Uranus is about 98° so Uranus spins on its axis that lies nearly in the plane of its orbit, so it experience extreme season. Each polar region takes the continuous sunshine for about 42 years and 42 years of total darkness.

As the tilt of the Uranus is more than 90° it rotate clockwise as seen from above its orbital plane. Uranus is also known as ice giant because it contains more amount of ice as compared to Jupiter and Saturn.

Conclusion:

Uranus has a tilt of 98° degree so it spins on its axis which lies nearly in the plane of its orbit, experiencing extreme season. Each polar region takes the continual sunshine for about 42 years and darkness for the next 42 years. Thus, the given statement is true.
