The two stages involved in pricing of an estimate.
Explanation of Solution
Pricing of estimate is defined as the process of approximately calculating the cost of the project after considering various factors influencing the cost of the project.
There are two stages of pricing of estimate and are given below.
Stage 1 − It is the starting phase and during this stage, a general list of all items required is prepared. This phase is also known as take off phase since take off of all items in the bid package is done.
Stage -2 − In this phase the price of all the items in the list is calculated. During this stage, the estimator focuses on one trade at a time while performing the pricing of items so it is considered as recap. This phase is known as recap. After finishing the recap, the summary of pricing for each craft is made. This makes the final bid easy.

Fundamentals Of Construction Estimating
- A machine costs ₱60,000 if paid in cash. On the installment plan, a purchaser should pay ₱20,000 down payment and 10 quarterly installments, the first due at the end of the first year after purchase. If money is worth 15% compounded semi-annually, determine the quarterly installment.arrow_forwardThe significant feature of ‘unit price contract’ is that the price per unit. Although quantities may vary, Unit Price is fixed at the time the contract is entered into and it is to remain unchanged throughout the work performance. Variations are allowed during the execution of the project. Explain in your own words what ‘Variations’ are?arrow_forwardThe activities involved in the construction of a small building are given below. The price of the work contained in each activity is listed in the table. The contractor undertaking this project would like you to prepare graphs of cumulative expense and income to date against time for activities starting as early as possible. The mark-up is 10% of tender value and retention is 5%. Measurement is made monthly with a payment delay of one month. The retention is paid at the end of the contract. To simplify the calculations, you may assume that all costs must be met by the end of the month in which they are incurred. What is the maximum amount of cash the contractor needs to execute this contract and when does he require this amount?
