Introduction:

The citric acid cycle is also known as Krebs cycle or TCA (tricarboxylic acid) cycle. It was given by Hans Krebs in 1937. This cycle takes place in organisms undergoing aerobic respiration after glycolysis. In Krebs cycle, the stored energy is released from the oxidation of CoA (Acetyl-coenzyme A) that is derived from fat, proteins, and carbohydrates.
