Polymers are long chain macromolecules which are formed by small molecules called as monomers. These small molecules are getting connected and forms giant molecules.

Concept Introduction:

Nylon-6 is a polymer which is made of a monomer 6-aminohexanoic acid. This follows a condensation step growth mechanism. So, it leaves small molecules as bye products while forming polymer. The condensation mechanism is an effective mechanism for the formation of polyamides.
