Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The body has several mechanisms of defense, which prevent the entry of pathogens. However, when there is a breach in these defenses, pathogen enter our body and cause infection. This is when the body’s second line of defense comes into action. It aims at removing the pathogen, which has already entered the body. Some of the mechanisms at play here are fever, interferons, the complement system, and production of antibodies.
