Explanation of Solution

The receptors or sensors are group of specialized cells and are also called transducers. They detect and convert the stimulus into an intracellular signal. If the stimulus is above the threshold value, the action potential passes along the sensory neuron to the central nervous system (CNS), where incoming signals are integrated. Some of the stimuli pass upward to the cerebral cortex, where they reach conscious perception, but others act on subconsciously, without any awareness.
