Introduction: The cranial bones as well as the facial bones are the major bones present in the cranium. These bones are not completely smooth, instead, they have openings, projections, and depressions. These are called bone surface markings and each contains specific functions. The depressions form joints. The projections constitute attachment points for tendons or ligaments. The openings form pathways through which nerves, as well as blood vessel, pass.
