Given information:

Neptunium -237 decays in a series that gives bismuth 209.

Neptunium 237 has 93 protons and 180 neutrons. The decay series is given as 4n+1 where elements such as bismuth and thallium are formed naturally. An americium 241 that is present in the smoke detector accumulates neptunium 237 in the chamber of ionization. The other elements formed in the decay series are bismuth, astatine, actinium, lead, polonium, francium, radium, thallium, thorium, protactinium and uranium. The decay series are given as follows:
