The mandible is a lower jaw bone found in the human face. This bone forms a part of the skull and is the only movable joint of the skull. The temporomandibular joint, ligaments, and muscles hold the mandible in position. The main functions of the mandible are holding the lower set of teeth, biting, and chewing of food.
