Introduction:

Plants get their nutrients and water from the soil through roots to the leaves. Of the various models studied, the cohesion-tension and the pressure flow models are widely accepted. This model explains the movement of water through the plant cells even to the top of the tallest trees. Besides, the tension variable in the xylem coupled with the hydraulic properties of the root is the main aspect in regulating the water uptake.
