Introduction:
Newborn screening program is a complex process. The RUSP is a list of disorders which the national advisory committee recommends for every newborn to be screened for all disorders. The National Institute of Child Health and Disease (NICHD) have provided guidelines in the form of Recommended Uniform Screening Panel (RUSP) as part of newborn screening. These include criteria for adding a disease to the RUSP list.

This patient is a 73-year-old male nonsmoker with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
